      About this Artwork

Allegory of the river Ilissos from the sculptures of the Parthenon kept in The British Museum of London. The work is made by using water pastels on canvas. Because it is not allowed the use of any watering substance inside the museum, firstly I drew my work with those special pastels and then I passed over the draw with a lightly moistened brush that I made wet with the help of a wet sponge as those used for stamps. The title "Light of Attika" refers to the feeling I always have when I visit the Parthenon Sculptures at the British. Once I get there It is like these masterpieces are asking the visitors to take them back to Athens to be infused again with its magical light.
