Oil on canvas. 50 × 60 cm (19,6″ × 23,6"). “Lionnardo da Vinci” (2016) is an oil painting portraying one of the greatest geniuses of world history and the Italian Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci, personified in the form of a witty lion. In this work, our character is surrounded in his studio with some of his most famous creations, such as La Gioconda at the front — also known as Mona Lisa — painted between 1503 and 1519, in a version with feline features. We can also see on the table a couple of famous drawings such as the Vitruvian Man, drawn around 1490; Profile of a warrior in helmet, 1472, and also a model of the Helical Air Screw, 1486, considered the precursor of the helicopter. Finally, in the background, we can appreciated a small model of Il Cavallo, an imposing equestrian statue in honor of Francesco I Sforza, and also the model of one of the famous ornithopters or flying machines of the great Florentine artist and inventor.
