      About this Artwork

The coloured strings are an expression for the flags of all the countries involved in the conflict in Syria. They forbid the citizen from expressing themselves, from ever speaking and even from screaming from grief over the loss of their children, their families and their loved ones. These countries force citizens to shut their mouth, using bullets fired directly at them. The shadow here forms the barbed wire and fence which imprison the oppressed citizen –physically and emotionally.
