About this Artwork
Hasedera is a temple of the Jodo sect, famous for its eleven-headed statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. This motive is out of the "Mystic Series", succesfully shown in several exhibitions.
"This conceptual photo series aims to show through special "places of silence" in nature or cities, through art or buildings in as many countries of the world as possible that there is an "invisible" thread connecting all peoples – a sort of archetype that invokes the same associations of a spiritual primordial connection and desire for the primal life: Mankind is connected since ever!
The blue tone which is characteristic of all photographs, underscores this feeling and is an additional band – in an "incredible, almost religious blue which makes the famous painting series of Yves Klein think" (Berliner Zeitung, newspaper of Berlin).
