      About this Artwork

Titan is the second largest moon in the solar system, orbiting Saturn. It's the only moon we know of with a substantial atmosphere. It has methane lakes, rivers, monsoon rains —everything that water does on planet Earth, liquid methane does on Titan. Dark large region of Saturn's moon Titan at 10°S 165°W is called Shangri-La. It is named after the mythical paradise in Tibet. It is thought to be an immense plain of dark material. It is thought that these regions of Titan were seas, but that they are now dry. Despite the flammable atmosphere and methane, Titan is very cold: water there is solid rock, and the moon's surface temperature is -179° C
