      About this Artwork

Urban Motifs. Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, better known by the alias Lenin, was a Russian communist revolutionary, politician, and political theorist. He served as head of government of the Russian Republic from 1917 to 1918, of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1918 to 1924, and of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1924. Under his administration, Russia and then the wider Soviet Union became a one-party socialist state governed by the Russian Communist Party. Ideologically a Marxist, he developed political theories known as Leninism. A mosaic is a piece of art or image made from the assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It is often used in decorative art or as interior decoration. Most mosaics are made of small, flat, roughly square, pieces of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae. Some, especially floor mosaics, are made of small rounded pieces of stone, and called "pebble mosaics". Others are made of other materials. Amazingly beautiful park «Riviera» - the most popular resort of Sochi Park, which must visit each holidaymaker and resident of the city. Riviera Park is one of Sochi’s major tourist attractions, originally designed for the pleasure of Russia’s Tsars, who used to enjoy taking extended holidays on the Black Sea coast around Sochi. Riviera Park is just one of several beautiful parks in the city, but this is by far and away one of the oldest, having been designed in 1898. Both tourists and locals alike flock to Riviera Park during the summertime, looking for an escape from the city where they can find somewhere quiet to enjoy the natural surroundings. One of Riviera Park’s most appealing features is the “glade of friendship”, which was planted by a Sochi-born cosmonaut. There is also a small botanical garden adjacent to the park, home to dozens of exotic trees and shrubs from around the world.
