      About this Artwork

In these digital works merge two interpretations of the meaning of copy. The old negative connotation is abandoned altogether to make room for two concepts that address the copy as a necessary basis for learning. The first is imitation as a way of perceiving the reality around us. We are what we copy, we learn from imitating from birth. We walk, talk and we act in a certain way simulating actions of others, taking the lead from them. But the copy behave also as a word of mouth, which is the second meaning I would like to suggest. From one person to another the object changes, the details recounted in each step change and what results is a personal interpretation, something new. At the end of the chain, the initial object will be completely transformed. Every living species copy and transform, evolving from that. " original project: EAST-WEST / WEST-EAST - Richard Serra
