Still life with animal and human skulls and with a drawing of a dead sparrow. The French title is better suited to this painting than the English 'still life'. Yes, it is still but there is no life anymore. In the Romance languages 'still life' is called 'dead nature': nature morte, natura morta etc. That is why I needed this title.
