      About this Artwork

Indira and her hair is well recognized together…and her cotton saris are also notable, a tradition followed well by her famous daughter-in-law, Sonia… There was a time when Indira was India and India was Indira, a time of darkness so as to say…the period of emergency…which taught us lessons for future India…which hopefully we have learnt well…She was also the lone daughter of a famous father who wrote to her letters to teach her about an India which was unique… A father wrote letters to teach his daughter on India, he wrote on heritage but the daughter learned about lineage, he wrote on freedom of thought & action but she learned about curbing it, he showed example and wrote from prison while she placed them in prison who spoke against her actions…proof to the fact that good intentions might not always translate to good action…
