Le château de la Belle au bois dormant Once someone said to me “Those little fairy tales that you read when you were a little boy will continue to follow you throughout your life. “Now I am above 50 years old but still remember the fairy tale of “The little sleeping beauty who was condemned to an eternal sleep in her glass casket hidden in her castle deep in the dark forest.” In my work you see the castle only as a dark shadow which is lost deep in a lush green forest. The idea behind this representation is not an illustration of a story but that of those vague memories of something that I had heard a long time back when I was a little boy. The new media method was employed to execute the artwork as that gave me a greater freedom of movement and a realistic style that was meant to suggest the old memories of a bygone era.
