      About this Artwork

'Dominonsense' series. Portrait of the funny oldman, Alfred Hitchcock. The subject of the artist's attention: people in a moment of idleness and sloth. Business-time, fun-hour. Sometimes this hour stretches into days, weeks, and years. As it is said in the work from the famous Goya series,- " It's better to be an idler": 'If somebody who works harder, has less, it's really better to lead an idle way of life'. Modern realities, the crisis economy often show that hard work and endless developments of competencies do not bring the desired improvement in living standards and welfare. So why bother? It is better to enjoy life, because it is so short. After all, even when everything goes well, it is more pleasant to rest than to drudge. Friendly parties, dancing in nightclubs, gambling and other types of idleness are aimless and sometimes harmful, but they are so attractive and allow you to forget about reality at least for a short time. Domino chips are a beautiful allegory of idleness and carefree waste of time. The series presents portraits of mostly ordinary people (acquaintances and friends of the author) made from photos taken during a restless holiday, made in the technique of computer emulation of a domino mosaic on the surface of a wooden table.
