      About this Artwork

Volcano Pacaya is one of the most active volcanoes in Central America. It's activity is mostly Strombolian but a slight increase in volcanic activity in 2006 brought about the creation of several lava rivers. The landslide from a recent eruption left another large crater at the base and within there is still 'hot' lava. Some tours they amuse themselves melting marshmallows there or cooking sausages.
