      About this Artwork

Peeping Tom in bush The inspiration for this work came from remark during a casual conversation at the garden barbecue party. One of that rare species of teenager guest present at the party had blurted out “it’s like that for all of you of the 19th century who dun it pulp paperback mystery book generation”. Now the conversation took a new imaginative turn with someone talking of the mystery novel “What the butler saw.” Etc… while the others talked about the various trends in modern literature in comparison with the earlier paperbacks of the last century. An event that lighted my own imaginary spark. I had my own teenager memories and one of those was of the famous “Wicked Blue Beard”. Therefore, using an realistic minimalist style to give it that feeling of the hidden eavesdropper and the print media I came up with my personal version.
