      About this Artwork

The Tale of the Amazombies: Z-Day was the biggest e-com shopping event of the year. In preparation, internet shoppers enthusiastically fired up their modems and flocked to the local internet cafes seeking the deals of a lifetime. Z-Day arrived to uproarious celebration as flying drones buzzed diligently through the streets. It didn't take long for the mysterious corporation behind the largest online source of POGS and Michael Crichton novels to reshape Seattle's landscape forever. The outbreak came as a surprise to most. Little did they know these drones did not come with their promised gifts like VHS copies of “Angels in the Outfield” at an unprecedented 80% off retail price. No, sir — these were drones with a purpose more sinister. Encased in cardboard and eco-friendly bubblewrap, the Z-Virus sat dormant with the ability to transform its recipient into an unrecognizable shell of their former selves. That thing you used to call your spouse or child now stumbles through the streets of South Lake Union griping and grumbling, almost inaudibly, nonsensical things about table tennis and vaguely German pubs. Chief Warehouse Delightment Officers and Web Optimaking Leaders are shipped in by the hundreds and crammed like sardines into new 145 sq ft micro studios for only $2,500 a month.
