Spider Grandmother, in a state of zen, took a web she had spun, laced it with dew, threw it into the sky and the scattered dew became the stars and planets. Her grandson was thrilled and marvelled at her creations. "To create is to perceive that which really is." said Spider Grandmother. "It is the realm of Zen. Go meditate child and become Zen and you too can create." The young Spidergod quickly learned the art of zen, a total state of focus that incorporates a total togetherness of body and mind. Zen is a way of being. It also is a state of mind. Zen involves dropping illusion and seeing things without distortion created by your own thoughts. When the Spidergod meditated in complete and absolute peace he saw that Form is emptiness, emptiness is Form and with this revelation was able to behold the universe, a psychedelic cosmos of light, colour and form. Then one morning he gathered up his dew soaked web, and with a nod of encouragement from Spider Grandmother, he cast the web far into the sky.
