        About this Artwork

The Grade II listed smock mill on top of the North Downs at Charing in Kent UK is also known as Old Mill and Field Mill. It appears on the 1821 map and was last worked in 1897 and converted into a dwelling before the Second World War. A public footpath runs through the grounds affording great views of this externally complete mill. Wind driving the clouds on this day lent itself to a long exposure shot. The hill is still rising at this point leading to the gradient on the foreground.
