About this Artwork
St Michael's Old Church in East Peckham is now redundant and in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. Alternatively known as St Michael's Roydon due to its vicinity to the ancient Roydon Hall, it became redundant as the settlement moved to the side of the River Medway in the 19th Century and new church was built in the 'new' village. The hilltop location is typical of St Michael dedicated churches and is wonderfully rural with exceptional views for many miles from the churchyard.
