Balázs Solti is a self-taught illustrator from Budapest, Hungary. He started drawing in 2010, about 5 years after graduating from university where he studied Russian language and literature. Greatly inspired from pop culture, film, and music, Balázs’ playful works quickly gained popularity, kick-starting his career as an illustrator. Today Balázs describes his style as a unique combination of modern design and his ongoing love for pop culture. He also likes to add animals to the mix: lions with party hats, bandit pandas, and dogs protesting all that is boring. For Balázs, animals are good way to communicate the often humorous messages behind his artworks. His creative toolbox includes Corel Painter, to draw lines with a pencil or ink-like feel, and Photoshop, to add the harder, more intricate details. Although Balázs enjoys the facility of creating digital works (no need to scan drawings, modifications are easier), he plans to create a line of works made with more traditional techniques in the near future.
