About this Artwork
Birth of a Donut was meant to be a somewhat comical critic upon the culture of fast food. In the illustration, you see a donut giving birth to a donut hole, but by giving birth, the donut is actually ripping out a part of its body. Nonetheless, through the process, it acquires a mouth. So, it gains something, but loses something as well.
