      About this Artwork

A P-51D Mustang from the 99th Fighter Squadron, 332nd Fighter Group. The Red Tails, flown by the Tuskegee Airmen had incredibly low bomber losses, and were praised by their crews, who were grateful for their dedicated protection. Tuskegee Airmen were true heroes of WWII, proving themselves well before they entered combat. They flew various aircraft, notably the P-51 Mustang, as long-range escort for B-24 and B-15 bombers. Their iconic "Red Tails" serve as an inspiration for every American
