About this Artwork
Created using premium Jacquard 'Pinata' alcohol inks on FRISK black synthetic paper.
These inks dry extremely quickly, so working with them accurately can be very difficult. This piece took twice the time as most others I have created.
This is a Male 'Plakat' or short-finned crowntail betta.
I used to breed these fish many years ago, they have always been one of my favourites. Masterful swimmers even for a fish, these are placid until they meet another male, then it can be fatal...
