About this Artwork
This work is part of a series I started one year ago, and it is a mirror of the state of mind I found myself in at the time, meditating over what the course of my life should be and what I must leave behind in order to start pursuing what I dreamt of and desired. Little by little, my old beliefs started to take the shape of dried flowers and new thoughts appeared, as buds that were about to blossom into the new self that I had started to work on. This work, however, illustrates the mourning over what one has to let go of in order to make space for change and growth. Human existence obeys the rules of nature and a graceful way of being must follow the natural course of all forms of life. The old must die to make room for the new.
