I was mentally cheering Jack in his escape from the angry giant who has just discovered the loss of the magic hen that laid the golden eggs. We can see this event in the many illustrations published over a large period of time produced in the various publications of story books for children evoking an excitement of the danger and the fortunate escape of Jack in the mind of child reading the story.
