About this Artwork
This is a digital composition adapted from a public domain reference image. The composition was designed by creating a set of concentric loops. I copied that set of loops multiple times, transforming them by vertical and horizontal reflection depending on where the epicenter was placed. I then masked out regions corresponding to the shapes of the skulls. The result is an area of triple density "behind" the skull shapes, and areas of single density "above" them. Essentially the image is an effect of those regions of varying density and not due to outline, shading, or contour.
