Allez-les-gars… – Cross- country bike race It is a common activity that is enjoyed everywhere in France. As soon as the weather begins to get warmer you see a lot of cyclists specially in the countryside now although there is a revival of this animation. It also has become a popular form of transport in the cities and towns with not being just limited to peoples of the economically weak section of this society but with those from all walks of life. The countryside is where you can see the groups of cyclists either on their regular physical training run or competing in some rural concours. Recently it was the turn of the *Tour de France* which is by far the most popular event of this kind in this country drawing large crowds lining the route cheering the cyclists as they raced by leaving me with the desire to put down this sporting enthusiasm on paper. As usual now this artwork was done in the new media method on my computer using the Corel Painter software. Respecting the traditional aspects of this event I chose a realistic style with colours and ambiance of the countryside. The artwork has been done on two paper panels with the possibility of placing them together for the presentation.
