About this Artwork
My illustrations are based on the Lewis Chessmen, found on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland in the 1800's. They were carved in the 12th century. When they were exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC (in 2012) the reviewer likened them to the Simpsons because of their cartoon-character appearance!
