      About this Artwork

These are two real orcas from the Southern Resident Killer Whale J Pod -- Eclipse and her son Nova. Eclipse is the second offspring of Shachi (J-19). First seen on July 1, 2005, she was believed to have been born within the prior twenty-four hours. Almost ten years later, a new calf, Nova (J-51), was seen with Shachi and Eclipse in February 2015. This is Eclipse's first offspring.
