About this Artwork
I started a new series in December last year (2021). I called the series 'Head series'. It is the first time that I try to portray a preconceived idea. Before that, since 1996, I have always worked with the principle of 'écriture automatique', where I did not know what I was going to make in advance. I took a piece of paper and immediately started drawing on it in India ink. In this series I try to find harmony with elements from my earlier work: the 'Amorphous' series and the 'Imaginary rooms' series. With this new series I consciously try to compose a visually strong image.
