Nowadays in China depression is becoming a common issue, about 1/10 of Chinese people having or had a depression problem, this is around 9 million to 13 million people, in which 1/7 people died by suicide. In the western world (Europe and United State), when you feel sad all the time, getting tired easily or when you are not interested in social activities, then it will be considered as a depressed affect. But in China, these phenomena are only considered as having a bad mood, which can be adjusted by themselves. People could not have enough information about depression and are not feeling comfortable to talk about this issue in public. Sometimes people will even get looked down by claiming their depression problems. By collecting, analyzing data and transforming this data into visually content, my goal is to help people (depressed or not) to have a healthier understanding of depression. The work included posters, brochures, books magazines and postcards. What’s more, during the exhibition I also presented an image wall of 120 images which constitute an intuitive data.
