Photographed with a panoramic film camera in the Vredefort Dome at Parys, South Africa. I climbed to the highest peak in the dome and, standing on a cliff, looked eastward. The swifts were flying parallel to the cliff upwards to the sky, then diving down again. The morning mist was rising and the sun backlit the scene. I hoped for one swift correctly positioned in the frame...
