Here, they are modified to reflect the needs of the autotroph. . philosophy | Nikolai Fedorov (1828-1903), the father of Cosmism, believed that one of humankind's goals should be autotrophy. Essentially, humans would be nourished like plants-- through sun, air, and rain. As Dr. George Young of @universitynewengland describes it: "Not in the immediate future, but perhaps in far distant times, we may need fewer and fewer parts of the body we now feed, and eventually become more like mentally and spiritually advanced plants communicating in rich mindfields than like advanced primates leaping faster and higher in increasingly expensive footwear.
